cardsAcademyUpper Cumberland United Soccer Club will be holding a Player Development Academy.  This academy is designed to help a player learn the basic fundamentals in terms of individual skills to continue progressing to further levels of soccer.  It is a great intermediate step when planning to go from Recreation play to Competitive (Travel) play.

A player can continue playing in the Recreational league while training in the Academy to develop more skills.

The youngest recommended age for a player to move into competitive play is around u12.  There are some u10 travel teams around the state, but this age bracket is NOT included in the state tournaments.  At u10 the players are just barely into the development stage of working with their teammates and they still do not comprehend much of what the game is meant to be in terms of dynamic team play.  U12 is the first age group where players begin seeing and understanding more and it begins to resemble a true soccer game.
